Four Weeks of Vitamin A, at the Pace Your Skin Can Keep

Most women start a retinol, get flaky in week two, decide it is not for them, and stop. Nothing was wrong with the product. Nobody told her how to use it.

This is the four weeks I would walk you through in person. A free nine-page guide to keep, and one email a week while you use it.

What the four weeks actually contain

Week one. Two nights only. Cleanse, one pea of Vitamin A, moisturizer. That is the whole assignment, and it is deliberately small.

Week two. The dry week. Some flaking is normal here, and this is where most women quit. I will tell you what is expected and what is not.

Week three. The week nothing happens. Nothing visible, and nothing wrong. Underneath, your renewal cycle is already turning over.

Week four. The first honest sign. It usually shows in the morning, and it is usually the way light sits on your face rather than anything you can point to.

The guide itself is nine pages and yours to keep. Your morning and night routine as two separate tables, every rule that protects your skin while it renews, what must never share an evening with a Vitamin A, what to eat for renewal, the four-week build with an if-your-skin-says-no column, and a printable card for the shelf by your sink.

Who this is for

  • You are 40 or over and your skin has started behaving differently.
  • You have never used a Vitamin A, or you tried once and it did not go well.
  • You have a bottle already and you are not certain you are using it correctly.
  • You would rather understand what you are doing than follow a list.
  • You can manage two nights a week to begin with.

What it is not: a product list, a sales funnel dressed as a freebie, or a promise that four weeks will change your face. Renewal answers to consistency and to time. The four weeks are how you start without frightening your skin.

The bottle tells her when. Nobody tells her how.

A woman buys a retinol. The label says apply at night, and that is the last useful thing it tells her.

It does not tell her what goes on before it or after it. It does not tell her which of the products already on her shelf must never share an evening with it. It does not tell her that without SPF the next morning, she is undoing the work she did the night before.

So she uses it, more or less, and her skin does not change, or it changes in the wrong direction. She decides retinol is not for her.

It was. She was handed a bottle and no instructions worth the name. These four weeks are the instructions.
